Privacy Policy
1. We care about your data.
Before we begin, the team at CoreHost care about privacy. We believe privacy is a fundamental right, and we take the principle of looking after your data as if it were our own. To that end, we collect the bare minimum we need in order to operate a successful business and we share it with as few people as possible.
2. Introduction.
The purpose of this document is to help you understand how CoreHost uses your personal information, how we protect that information, and how you can request copies or request deletion of your data.
In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" refer to CoreHost, as specified in Section 7 of this document.
This policy applies where we are acting as a data controller with respect to the personal data of our website visitors and service users, in other words, when we determine the purposes and means of the processing of the personal data.
In this document we will discuss two types of personal data: service data (data we hold about you to provide your services), and usage data (information held for analytics purposes).
3. How we use your personal data.
For the purposes of analytics, we may process data about your use of our website and services (usage data). The data may include your IP address, geographic location, browser type and version, operating system, referral source, length of visit, page views and website navigation paths, as well as information about the timing, frequency and pattern of your service use. The source of the usage data is Google Analytics, which is only loaded after you accept analytics cookies. The usage data may be processed for the purpose of analysing the use of the website and services.
For the purpose of providing you with an account, we process your service data. This data includes, but is not limited to, your name and email address. The source of your account data is you: this data is provided when signing up to CoreHost.
4. Sharing your personal data.
Your personal data may be disclosed to any member of our team, or other CoreHost users, with a relevant need to know. Your personal information will not be shared with any other company.
We use Anthropic's Claude models through Anthropic's commercial API (private inference) to support a number of our support initiatives, such as answering and triaging support tickets, drafting replies and diagnosing server problems. Only the content needed for the request, such as ticket text and relevant server logs, is sent. Under Anthropic's commercial terms it is not used to train their models.
Financial transactions relating to our services are processed by our payment provider, Stripe. Due to the nature of their services, it may be necessary to disclose limited personal data to Stripe. Rest assured that CoreHost will do everything in our power to limit this.
In addition to all disclosures outlined above, CoreHost will only disclose your personal data where such disclosure is required for compliance with a legal obligation to which we are subject. We may also disclose your personal data where such disclosure is necessary for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims, whether in court proceedings or in an administrative out of court procedure.
5. Transfer of your personal data
Your service data is held solely in Australia and as such is protected by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. This will not be transferred outside of this region without prior notice, to which you will have the right to withdraw consent from our agreement by closing your account.
You acknowledge that personal data you submit through our website or services may be available, via the Internet, around the world. We cannot prevent the use (or misuse) of such personal data by others where circumstances are out of our control. CoreHost uses the latest security practices to ensure your data is not publicly visible whilst moving around the Internet.
6. Data retention and deletion
The personal data we process shall not be kept for longer than is necessary.
Service data, regarding payments and contact information will be held indefinitely to protect the company legally.
Service data, other than specified above, will be held until your account is closed, and up to thirty days after.
Analytics data shall be held for a period no longer than six months.
7. Amendments
From time to time, we may need to update this document by publishing a new version to our website. We will send all registered users email notifications to let you know about any changes.
If you are not a registered user, we would recommend checking this page from time to time, ensuring you are still happy with any changes.
